We Are Makers
Edition Eleven
Edition Eleven
Where Edition Ten marked a milestone, Edition Eleven for We Are Makers marks our onward journey. Continuing our commitment to sharing makers' stories and ensuring the craftspeople of the world have a place to reach new audiences – free from algorithms and distractions. A place where you, our readers, can continue to connect on a deeper, more meaningful level with the world's most incredible makers.
In this edition, we dive into our first boots-on-the-ground exploration in Ballarat, Victoria, a city with a rich history and a burgeoning creative renaissance. During the Ballarat Heritage Festival and UNESCO Creative Cities events in the last week of May this year, we were on the scene, engaging with local makers, and documenting the week's events as they unfolded.
Alongside this feature we share eleven stories from global makers, each one a unique and personal journey. Amy Krone in New York, inspired by a serendipitous find in a second-hand bookstore, creates Cambium Lost Arts and explores the art of basketry. Idris Olabode from Lagos, Nigeria shares his deep connection with clay, crafting unique ceramics from locally sourced materials. From Fife, Scotland, Greg Field makes the most sought-after leather jackets that are loved by customers worldwide & so much more.

from 149 reviewsGreat focus on a variety of talented artists. Would be great to show more of each person's work though. Seems like portraits for the most part.
What a great publication! Thank you. So glad to have found you at craftfest.
Like slow Instagram but good for my brain. Beautifully produced and printed . Top qualitypublication
I am just starting to enjoy it now...I was out of town when it arrived, and it got soaked in a rain storm on my steps. I carefully unwrapped it and dried it out for a couple weeks. ( I was impressed right away at how thick it was!) I got several sneak peaks as I switched pages for drying. Now that it is completely dry and safe to look at, I am delving in. Thank you for creating this publication!
I absolutely love the magazine, beautiful paper quality, editorial layouts are outstanding and the whole book is really engaging. The stories are deeply thought out and really get under the skin of the story or each maker. Loved learning about creative talents that I’d not heard of before. I know that I’ll come back to these issues for inspiration and they’ll look great in my office. Can’t wait for the next issue.
Great quality publication, interesting profiles
As always so inspiring!
Having been newly retired, I’ve been grappling with a shift in my world view from my “white collar consulting role” to becoming a maker. The stories about other makers you provided in the magazine are exactly the kind of inspiration I need to guide me through this transition. Looking forward to reading many more stories!
Really well dkone.
A new world opened up for me when I read this issue. So many incredible makers. I was so enthused by them I shared your magazine with my artist friends. Thank you.

I Love receiving the next issue to see more amazing master craftsmen & women. All the places & what will be featured.
This coffee table magazine never disappoints. 5 stars and highly recommend. Inspirational stories of makers around the world and stunning images to match. I’m looking forward to the next one.
